The following year at the same awards we won the Best Pet Friendly award recognising pet friendly destinations who have enhanced the visitor experience by focusing on providing services and support for pets.
We’re particularly proud to have won this one as dog lovers ourselves. Since our opening we’ve provided your four legged friends with welcome baskets, blankets, toys, making sure that all our Cottages and Log Cabins gardens and grounds are secure and safe. Other popular features include our riverbank dog gate and dog wash with fresh dry towels for a good clean after those nice long walks!

From your doorstep or a short drive away, you can access fantastic walking trails suitable for all abilities. The Berwyn mountain range boasts 24 summits above 2000ft (610m), easily reached from Llandrillo on the western side. On the eastern side, a visit can be combined with Wales’s tallest waterfall, Pistyll Rhaeadr, at Tan-y-pistyll. The three principal summits, Cadair Berwyn (2723 m/ft 830 m), Moel Sych (827 m/2710 ft), and Cadair Bronwen (827 m/2710 ft), can be conquered in one circular hike.

At Rivercatcher, part of the Cyclists Welcome Scheme, guests enjoy secure bike storage, access to bike maintenance essentials, and facilities for washing bikes and drying wet gear, ensuring a hassle-free biking experience in case of Welsh rain.

From across the bank, we first spotted Cilan Farm, which we transformed into Rivercatcher—a labor of love. Having fished this stretch for years, we recognise its prime location for game fishing. Guests have access to our private river stretch, and permits are available for other scenic spots. Grayling fishing here rivals the best in the UK, while Lyn Brenig offers superb trout fishing. We’re thrilled to welcome your dog to Rivercatcher. With fenced-off gardens in each cottage and cabin, your furry friend can safely enjoy the stay. Explore numerous dog-friendly walks in the area, both on and off-lead, with details provided upon arrival. Plus, we offer an enclosed dog walking area by the river right on-site for added convenience.
