The Berwyn Restaurant VISIT THE SITE

The Berwyn Restaurant is a traditional restaurant only a short five minute drive away, serving local British and Welsh cuisine, including both meat and vegetarian dinners and a selection of homemade desserts.

It has accumulated consistent five stars reviews on Trip Advisor, for it’s remarkable food, service, value for money and atmosphere – many of these reviews shared by our very own guests here.

Palé Hall VISIT THE SITE

Palé Hall is comprised of an award-winning, fine-dining restaurant, situated in the neighbouring village of Llanderfel.It’s newly-refurbished, created in association with the Michelin-star chef, Michael Caines and even caters for those arriving by helicopter. A requirement most of us don’t even realise we need until we’re offered it.

Bryntirion Inn  VISIT THE SITE

The bryntirion is a traditional, cosy and well stocked bar with a lovely log fire. They also have a menu to cater for everyone including vegetarians and children. And just like rivercatcher its dog friendly so the whole family can get involved.

Old Wives’ Tale – Bala VISIT THE SITE

This authentic Portuguese restaurant is run by the renowned Rui and Michelle, their quirky and enthusiastic personalities reflected in their eccentric décor and welcoming atmosphere. A dining experience here begins with free Artisan bread and ends with a free, complimentary glass of Port. Relocated from nearby Corwen in 2022 to Tegid Street in Bala, their restaurant is the perfect combination of local and international cuisine.

The Grouse Inn – Carrog VISIT THE SITE

The commanding Berwyn mountain range and River Dee in North Wales, form the perfect setting for The Grouse Inn at Carrog, a small village between Llangollen and Corwen just off the A5. A short walk from the Heritage Steam Railway station will bring you to this award winning, family and dog-friendly pub which offers a well-stocked bar and a popular menu to be enjoyed either indoors or on a large covered terrace.

This charming tea room is the perfect spot for you and your family to enjoy their popular afternoon tea.

With a passion for food that is continually showcased within their locally sourced ingredients and delicious selection of cakes and bakes, the only thing that could make the Sugar Plum Tea Room any more delightful would be if they were located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Oh wait. They are! And it’s only a forty minute drive from Rivercatcher.

Y Cyfnod – Bala VISIT THE SITE

This café and bistro is the oldest established café in Bala.

It is home to premium quality meals (including a classic Welsh Steak Burger or an authentic Italian style risotto), an appreciable selection of wines and cakes, and even the prominent title of Certificate of Excellence Winner 2019 – what more could you want? And it’s only a 15 minute drive away! A reasonable distance to drive for Excellence.

Manon’s Riverside Café – Bala VISIT THE SITE

If picturesque cafés beside the river are your thing, then this is your ideal spot.

With delicious food served by friendly staff, you can enjoy a relaxing beans-on-toast lunch (a classic), whilst gazing upon the flailing white-water rafters struggling on down the river. They’re located at the National White-Water Centre in the Snowdonia National Park, only a twenty minute drive away (or a good few hours of canoeing, depending on your preferred method of travel).
